Talking to 2nd grade students about September 11th isn’t easy.

I found myself avoiding the topic in fear of saying the wrong thing every Patriot Day.

After researching from organizations like the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, I’ve learned you can honor the lives lost with a kid appropriate explanation.

There are many positive themes students can benefit from like:

- Hope
- Acts of Service
- Patriotism
- Healing

This year with be the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

Does your school do anything to honor Patriot Day? 🇺🇸

2nd grade teachers make sure you’re doing THIS with your daily math warm up!

- Go over the answers!! Daily feedback makes sure the mistakes don’t stick.
- have students self-grade (plus it saves you so much time)
- Review all math domains all year

My 2nd grade anti busywork math spiral review makes it EASY for teachers to do all of these in their classroom.
